The Departament de Matemàtica
Aplicada I is in charge of teaching mathematics at the ETSEIB and EPSEB, as well
as several courses at the FME.
The
subjects covered include algebra, calculus, numerical analysis, topology and differential
equations.
The
research is mainly centered in the control systems theory, the cohomology of algebraic
manifolds, the partial differential equations, dynamical systems (specially celestial
mechanics) and the history of science and technique.
The
research groups are strongly related with similar groups in other universisties.
The financial support comes from several organizations.
